Large Wall Hanging

This is a dancing lady pattern of large wall hanging or home décor.  Here hand embroidery is combined with patchwork. First embroidery is done on respective colored cloth such as face on skin color fabric etc. Afterwards all those patches fixed together on a cotton fabric by hand and later stitched by machine.
You can observe variety of stitches are used in this piece of art i.e. stem stitch, wheel buttonhole, herringbone, satin stitch etc.

Kasuti – The folk art

Kasuti is the conventional form of hand embroidery practiced in the states of Karnataka and Maharashtra.
Kasuti is done on traditional hand woven sarees like Ilkal, Dharwad sarees. Dark shades are used for the work. Some examples of  Kasuti  designs are chariots, elephant, peacock etc are in geometrical shapes, and   can be done by counting treads of the fabric.    

To date this exquisite work come long way by traditional sarees to silk sarees and dress materials also.

Table Cloth – For kids
